Midland Middle School supply list for grades 5th through 8th.
Good afternoon parents. Around 1pm this afternoon Midland Middle School was notified by local authorities that there was a gas leak across from the school in a nearby ditch. The leak was not on school property. Lacon police, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Lacon - Sparland Fire Department arrived soon after and asked us to shelter in one location away from the front entrance of the school. All students and staff were moved to the little gym on the backside of the school while we waited for further instructions. Ameren had the leak off quickly and Marshall County has since given us the all clear. Students have returned to their normal day. We wanted to keep all parents up to date and appreciate your support in this manner.
8th grade promotion ceremony is tomorrow night at 7pm! Please make sure to arrive early as parking will fill up quickly. Each of the graduating 8th graders will have two seats reserved for family in the front of the gym near the stage or aisle. Hope to see everyone out tomorrow night!
Parents, this message is for Hopewell and Sparland residents who ride Donna Strawn's bus in the morning. Due to mechanical issues and field trips we are one bus short for tomorrow morning. We will send a bus to Hopewell, but not at the normal time. A bus should start picking up in Hopewell around 8:15 tomorrow morning and will drop off at all three buildings. We hope to have the issue resolved during the day tomorrow. If we do not, we will contact you with afternoon details.
Awards Night has been changed from May 17 to May 29. It will still be held at 6:30pm. You should have already received an invitation to the event. The change of date was needed after finding out the railroad was going to close the Sparland tracks. Thank you for understanding!
We need you! Teacher appreciation week is May 7 through May 11. Please let us know if you can help on Wednesday or Thursday.
Midland Middle School Ed Camp is coming on April 19! This will also be 5th grade Orientation! Go to the Principal's Desk and scroll down to see a post from Mr. Janssen regarding Ed Camp.
