Remind Accounts

Hello parents! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

As many of you know Midland Middle School utilizes an app called Remind. It sends messages to parents regarding homework. Many staff members throughout the building use it on a daily basis. However, over the past few weeks I've talked to parents and staff about how we are using Remind. I believe we could be using it more efficiently. For many parents you are slammed with multiple messages from different subjects and if you have multiple students in the middle school you are getting slammed with Remind messages throughout the evening. I recognize how that can be confusing, and perhaps even overwhelming. This past week the Middle School Building Leadership Team talked about the problem and worked out a solution.  Instead of having a teacher by teacher Remind account, we will instead have a grade level account. So parents, if you have a 5th grade student there will be a 5th grade Remind account. This will be true for all grades. I will mail a letter home with instructions on how to sign up for the appropriate grade level account when we are ready to launch. Teachers will keep their old Remind accounts. They will still send private messages to you as needed and you also can message them if you've connected with him already through Remind. Also, parents any message sent back through our Homework Remind page will be sent to a shared account with teachers. They will respond as needed.

I also wanted to share out that I wanted to take advantage of Remind's services for communicating with parents. In the past, I've utilized Google, Facebook, Twitter and our school website to communicate with all of you. Today, I've started using Remind. I will do my best to post information, middle school events and other announcements to keep you in the loop. We will continue to post to our Facebook page and my Twitter account (@PrincipalTwolf) as well as our school website.

We do our best to communicate with parents and students. It's all part of our plan to offer the best experience we can. Thank you for your support and have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

There's always something good going on at Middle School so stop in and see us sometime. Until then, it's a great day to be a Timberwolf.
